The IGBC Index rose 0.2 percent to 14,447.25, while the Colcap Index rose 0.3 percent to 1,754.76.
Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota SA (ETB CB), the state-run phone company serving Colombia’s capital, fell 2.3 percent to 728 pesos.
Opposition city councilman Jaime Caicedo proposed a plan yesterday to “save” the company from private ownership by reinvesting its profits as well as profits of Empresa de Energia de Bogota SA, according to a statement on the council’s website.

The company plans to expand abroad and increase revenue from overseas to at least 50 percent of its total within 10 years, Chief Financial Officer Andres Bernal told the daily La Republica yesterday.
The Medellin-based holding company currently gets between 15 percent and 20 percent of its revenue from abroad, Bernal told the newspaper.
