BBC worldwide signs agreement with Colombia’s América Móvil


BBC Worldwide Channels has signed an agreement with América Móvil to bring the BBC's HD channels to the digital cable platform operator Claro in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and the Dominican Republic, thus strengthening the presence of the BBC in Latin America.

The BBC says the agreement reaffirms its commitment to bring Latin American audiences the best factual and entertainment content, which has the support and quality assurance of the BBC.

Starting this month, Clear subscribers in Chile (Channel 563), Colombia (1413 and 1431), Ecuador (850), Peru (565) and Dominican Republic (1241) will be able to enjoy the most acclaimed BBC content, ranging from award-winning documentaries, concerts and the best British dramas, to programmes that celebrate life and the world through the exploration of science and nature, in a high definition format.

Clear also distributes BBC Worldwide Channels to various territories. In Peru, CBeebies and BBC Entertainment can be seen on channels 40 at 115 respectively, in Ecuador on 219 and 666 and in the Dominican Republic on channels 431 and 241.
