Presidenta Laura Chinchilla will host the visit to Costa Rica of Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, on June 15, in a bilateral meeting to discuss issues relevant to both countries.
Some of the topics to be covered in this meeting are the extension of trade relations between both countries, the announcement of a protocol for joint action in the fight against shark finning, the activation of the bi-national commissions in the second half of this year and cooperation in security matters.
Other issues that could be topic of discussion between the two leaders are hemispheric defense and the strengthening of human rights and Colombia's support for Costa Rica's temporary presidency of the Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos (CELAC) for 2.014.
