The Colombian Pacific Region wants to conquer Asia, especially China with a variety of products ranging from fruits and vegetables.

These and other deals are recorded in a study promoted by the Foundation for Integral Development, FDI, of the Government of the Valle and support of the Bank of the Republic, which identifies the productive and export potential in these fields.

In a meeting held on Tuesday, an early stage diagnosis was discussed.

El Pais, informed that the departments of Valle, Cauca and Nariño have great potential for exporting fruit like papaya, pineapple, coconut, apple and mangosteen, as well as avocado, lettuce, strawberry, blackberry, dates, broccoli, pepper, cauliflower, among others, for the Asia-Pacific market.

It was determined, for example, that the annual pineapple market, in the countries of the Pacific Basin, is about U.S.D $ 1,300 million, while avocado is over U.S.D. $ 1,000 million, China and the U.S. being the largest consumers, as well as Japan and Canadá.
