The company said it began offering 2.5 trillion pesos ($1.4 billion) of shares today in a sale that will end Sept. 23, according to an e-mailed statement.
The Medellin-based company is offering 114 million shares at 21,900 pesos each, the statement said.
Fabricato SA (FABRI CB), Colombia’s biggest textile maker, rose 1.4 percent to 72 pesos.
The U.S. House of Representatives on Sept. 7 will consider a bill to renew tariff preferences for developing countries, a step that may ease the way for free- trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama. The company’s Brazilian subsidiary was awarded two lots in a Sept. 2 transmission concession auction, according to an e-mailed statement.
The concessions include three substations and four transmission lines, extending the subsidiary’s presence into Brazil’s Paraiba and Pernambuco states.
