FIFA president Joseph Blatter said on Friday that Colombia could be capable of holding the 2.026 World Cup finals after successfully hosting the under 20 event, which ends Saturday with the final game between Brazil and Portugal.
"Colombia organized the U20 World Cup with a high level and the best thing is that we can say to the organization, to government and its population that Colombia is prepared to host a World Cup, but should wait until 2.026," said Blatter in a press conference.
Blatter told reporters that the organization of the event was "excellent" and the 23 participating teams were satisfied.
Colombia had run for the 2.014 World Cup, which was awarded to Brazil.
