Fabricato SA (FABRI CB), Colombia’s biggest textile maker, fell 4.9 percent, the most in a month, to 58 pesos after U.S. House Republicans postponed plans to consider legislation this week that would implement free-trade accords with South Korea, Colombia and Panama.
Grupo Nutresa SA (NUTRESA CB), Colombia’s biggest food producer, rose 0.4 percent to 23,700 pesos after Chief Executive Officer Carlos Enrique Piedrahita said yesterday the company plans to use proceeds from a $295 million share sale to buy U.S. companies.
Interbolsa SA (INTBOL CB), Colombia’s largest securities brokerage, rose 18 percent to 3,092.14 pesos, the most in nearly five years, after the company repurchased about 19 billion pesos ($10.6 million) worth of its stock. Interbolsa analyst Juan Pablo Vieira confirmed the stock repurchase by telephone from Medellin.
Isagen SA (ISAGEN CB), an energy company, fell 0.4 percent to 2,400 pesos. Colombia’s gas, electricity and water services contracted 1.3 percent in the first quarter from a year ago, according to data released by the country’s statistics agency yesterday.
