President of El Salvador will travel to Colombia

The president of El Salvador, Mauricio Funes, travel to Colombia the next day 23, announced today the Foreign Minister, Hugo Martinez.

Funes said that the Chancellor will meet in Bogota with his counterpart, Manuel Santos, who will address the issue of the fight against drug trafficking.

Another purpose of the trip, according to Martinez, is to raise the interest of his government in a tax on high income sectors and used in Colombia to combat organized crime.

The initiative was made in the country by Funes last year after a meeting with former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, but immediately aroused the rejection of the business associations and right-wing parties.

In Bogotá Funes also attend an international meeting of tourism and attend a meeting between businessmen of both nations.
