Colombia's exports in 2010 grew 21.2%, to $ 39.819 million

Colombian exports amounted to 39.819 million dollars in 2010, an increase of 21.2% compared to 2009, when totaled 32.853 million, said Wednesday the state Department of Statistics (DANE).

The agency noted that in 2009 Colombia's sales abroad registered a fall of 12.7% compared to the previous year.

According to Dane, the increase in exports last year due to a 41.2% increase in sales of traditional products: oil, coal, coffee and ferronickel.

While in 2009 exports of these products totaled U.S. $ 17.953 million in 2010 this service reached 25.351 million dollars.

In contrast, foreign sales of traditional products fell 2.9% in 2010 to add U.S. $ 14.468 million compared to 14,900 million dollars in 2009.
