New adventure in Colombia, Shakira's first children's story

The Colombian singer / songwriter Shakira, introduced in the country "Dora the Explorer on the adventure of World Day of School", a children's story with the artist exploring the world of letters.

In the publication tells the adventures which passes with Dora, her companion, called Boots, to provide supplies and other items that are not in school to the kids.

"Dora is an inspiration to all children in the world, even it is for me. It was an honor to work with Nickelodeon to write this story because education is a cause close to my heart, " said Shakira, according to a press release Grupo Editorial Norma, who published the book.

The pop star said she wants "the children from all over the world to know that through knowledge and education one can embark on great adventures"

The book is hardcover with bright watercolor illustrations, the statement said adding that a percentage of the royalties will go to Shakira's Pies Descalzos Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education of children.

"Working with Shakira to create educational and enriching story has been an extraordinary experience," said Paula Allen, Nickelodeon Consumer Products (NCP).
