Colombian police destroyed 22 laboratories of the Farc

In a raid yesterday in Guaviare authorities stripped the guerrillas of about $ 1.05 million in materials for the manufacture of drugs.
The nation's police found and destroyed New Granada 22 laboratories processing cocaine base belonging to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in three municipalities of the department of Guaviare (south), the National Police reported yesterday in a statement .
The institution pointed out that under the operation called "República 81", coordinated by the narcotics unit, were those "rustic infrastructure" belonging to the First and Seventh fronts of the FARC.
Each of the 22 laboratories had the capacity to process about 10 kilograms of cocaine base per week, so, according to police estimates, between all could produce an average of 880 kilograms of cocaine base per month.
In the operation was also seized 338 kilograms of cocaine base, 6,800 kilograms of coca leaf, chemical precursors and production equipment valued in total at about 1,900 million Colombian pesos (about $ 1.05 million).

 
The seizure was not the only blow to drug trafficking crowded yesterday by the Government of Colombia.
This Friday reported the arrest of two suspected leaders of the Alta Guajira criminal gang, identified as alias "Cobra" and "Pantera", whom they accuse of sending drugs to the U.S., Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Interpol (Dijin) of the National Police said the arrested inherited the helm of the organization after the capture last November Arnulfo González Sánchez, alias "Pablo," who was one of the country's most wanted criminals .
The arrests were made simultaneously in the city of Santa Marta and Uribía, municipality of La Guajira department, both located north of the country.
The statement said agents seized during the operation, 8 rifles, 22 grenades, 40 mm, 60 mm mortars 7, 4807 cartridges, 162 rifles and 3,200 kilograms of dope.
The criminal gang
has its headquarters in the northern peninsula of La Guajira, territory in dispute with another organization, the "paisas".
