Chavez : Colombia-Venezuela Ties will Continue to Recover

Relations between Colombia and Venezuela will continue to recover and strengthen, despite attempts by the extreme right-wing worldwide to sabotage them, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez affirmed.

The previous Colombian government Alvaro Uribe was about to unleash a war due to illegal incursion of troops into Ecuadorian territory, and broke relations with this nation, Chavez told the television program "Contragolpes" via telephone.

Referring to the issue, he announced that Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos will arrive to the country Monday for a meeting with Venezuelan authorities.

He reiterated that he and Santos are willing to continue promoting bilateral relations, and will not let the extreme right-wing hinder their course.
