Mexico defeats France 3-1 for third place

Mexico rallied to defeat France 3-1 on Saturday and take third place in the Under-20 World Cup.

Ulises Davila, Jorge Enriquez and Edson Rivera scored unanswered goals after Alexandre Lacazette had put France ahead with an 8th minute header.

The third place finish was Mexico's best ever in the tournament and adds to an impressive few months for its national teams. Mexico's senior team defeated the United States in the final of the regional Gold Cup tournament in June, and Mexico won the Under-17 World Cup title in July, defeating Uruguay in the final.

The fourth place finish was also the best for France in the event.
