YaSabe to sell Panregional Advertising for Colombia’s Publicar

YaSabe, the Virginia based local search company, just signed a deal with Colombia’s Publicar, a multimedia publishing company owned by Grupo Carvajal, to sell pan-regional advertising to global brands that want to reach consumers in Latin America and the United States.

As part of the deal, YaSabe will provide local search for U.S. Hispanics at PaginasAmarillas.com and operate the U.S. website of PaginasAmarillas.com.

Publicar S.A., based in Bogota, Colombia, is a multimedia content provider for South and Central America with operations in Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala.

Among its products and services are phone directories, Internet search services, website production, call centers and other digital products.

Publicar’s Internet properties attract more than 10 million users per month and call centers receive more than 1 million directory assistance inquiries a week.

The proprietary dataset developed and managed by YaSabe makes it possible to aggregate queries from Hispanic consumers searching online at Google, Bing or on other partner destinations like PaginasAmarillas.com and Holaciudad.com.

Growth, also on a panregional basis

Local Search is an area that is growing a lot as Yellow Page Publishers such as Publicar, Telmex owned Seccion Amarilla and traditional media companies like Impremedia are battling for a piece for this growing sector for the local online advertising market.

Late last year Google set up a panregional office in Miami led by Lisa Green, to sell Latin American search advertising search on a panregional basis.
