Colombia Stocks : Exito, Canacol Energy Ltd., Textiles Fabricato

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Bogota trading.

Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 12:08 p.m. New York time.

The IGBC Index rose 0.4 percent to 14,299.91, while the Colcap Index added 0.2 percent to 1,692.44.

Almacenes Exito SA (EXITO) , Colombia’s biggest publicly- traded retailer, rose 1.8 percent to 27,700 pesos after Celfin issued a report saying that first-quarter profit, scheduled to be reported today, probably increased 80 percent.

Canacol Energy Ltd. (CNE) , the Calgary-based oil company that operates fields in South America, rose 5.4 percent to 2,165 pesos, the most since Feb. 8.

Investors are buying the stock on bets that yesterday’s record 18 percent plunge was overdone, said Rupert Stebbings, an analyst at Celfin Colombia SAS.

Textiles Fabricato Tejicondor SA (FABRI) , Colombia’s biggest textile maker, rose 2.1 percent to 44.3 pesos, headed for its biggest gain in three weeks.

The company reported yesterday first-quarter sales increased 24 percent from a year earlier.
