Who speaks for the environment?

What is being done to nurture it?,

Are some of the questions that rarely do people who talk about environmental issues is limited to asking how is the weather for each day if rain is forecast and drought and every time think of a tragedy to blame the "El Niño" or what we call "climate change", "greenhouse effect" without knowing what it is and that probably all be the cause.

The Andean region is one of the most privileged areas of the country for its variety of climatic zones, minerals, ecosystems, water sources that bathe much of Colombian territory, but also one of the regions with the greatest impact of pollution be most economically active region and most populated.

So a group of researchers from universities Santo Tomás, UNAD and Minuto de Dios University undertook the task of asking who spoke for the Environment, he said and how they worked, and then came an inquiry into the experiences Communication and development environment of the Andean region of Colombia, an attempt to make visible environmental problems of one of the most biodiverse regions of the country and the significant impact in addressing environmental problems in the region.

Mapping results allowed to establish criteria for selecting experiences over four years of work, located in different subregions of the Andean region and a major social impact visible through the linking of various stakeholders, the development of different activities involvement, concern for environmental issues not only from the protection and management of resources, but also and primarily from the territory and awareness as well as linking with networks.

To continue this work, the research group is calling for a dialogue of knowledge to share the results and provide a space for recognition with the aim of promoting a working network that would strengthen the work of the actors address the problem environmental.
